Audible announced on Monday that the Hogwarts textbook penned by J.K. Rowling, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, will be released as an audiobook and narrated by none other than the star of the movie, Eddie Redmayne, who plays the wizard and magical creatures specialist, Newt Scamander.
The recording will be released on March 14, and is available now for preorder.
The audio book will feature six new beasts and a foreword by Newt Scamander. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has recommend Fantastic Beasts as a core textbook since its publication. This essential guide to magical creatures has been revised by J.K. Rowling to reflect new discoveries in magic and advancements in the wizarding world.
Eddie Redmayne says of the narrating the audiobook:
“Before I was cast in the film, David Yates told me about Newt and this textbook. I found it so funny and so enchanting and really wittily written. But it wasn’t until I started reading it out loud for the audiobook that I realized how tricky and poetic J.K. Rowling’s use of sounds and language can be. There are some really great tongue twister words in here!
“Occasionally, I had to stop recording just because I was incapable of saying the words without either laughing or getting my tongue in a muddle. I enjoyed the challenge and hope listeners can sense that in my narration.”
