Trek Radio dropped a leaked photo from the latest Star Trek incarnation, and the rumor is that they’re the new Klingons.
They certainly don’t look like Klingons to us.
The photo leaked Saturday on The Trek BBS, and was said to have been taken by someone working on the Star Trek: Discovery set. The photo’s caption, posted on Instagram, says:
“Hanging out with my new Klingon Crew today on the set of the new #startrek”
Klingons will feature large in the new series, and the costumes look similar to those shown in the production video released last week, according to Trek News.
Klingons have been known to morph unexpectedly in the Star Trek universe, from the basically human-shaped TOS version to the more modified Next Gen versions. Star Trek: Discovery is set in pre-Kirkian times, prior to the Enterprise’s five-year mission, so speculation is open to what kind of Klingons these are, if Klingons they be.

Fans will certainly be left to wonder until the new show debuts. Formerly planned to launch in January 2017, the show was pushed to May, and is now open. A rep from CBS All Access told The Hollywood Reporter:
“This is an ambitious project; we will be flexible on a launch date if it’s best for the show. We’ve said from the beginning it’s more important to do this right than to do it fast.”
