Sense8 Star Squashes Cancellation Rumors

Sense8 is a science fiction drama series that came in strong on Netflix in 2015, featuring a diverse, international cast, and gaining some serious cred with a Best New Media TV series nomination from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films.

The show tells the story of eight strangers from all parts of the world who all have visions involved the violent death of a woman called Angela. From this, they discover that they’re “sensates,” who have a mental and emotional connection that lets them communicate with each other and share information. While learning how to deal with this new skill, they have to avoid those that are trying to track them down by tapping into this connection and kill them.

Netflix renewed Sense8 for Season 2 for 10 episodes, which will run on Netflix starting May 5. But rumors are circulating that the streaming service won’t pick the show up for Season 3.

According to Digital Spy, however, no final decision has been made yet.

Actor Brian J. Smith, who plays Chicago cop Will Gorski, told Digital Spy that there is nothing indicating an end to Sense8 as of yet.

“That all rests with Netflix and also the fans, too – if they like what happens, and they like what they see in season two, we’ll hear about it.”

Trailers aren’t out for Season 2 yet, but the Season 1 trailer gives those that haven’t yet had a chance to catch the series every good reason to indulge.
